Fort Bragg Driver Improvement Training is conducted to reinforce positive attitudes and motivate persons who have been cited for moving traffic violations, or have been determined to have been at fault in a traffic accident on Fort Bragg.

FOR

DRIVER IMPROVEMENT TRAINING

ATTENDEES

 This Training Is Not Conducted as Unit Remedial Training, there will not be any  Command Directed personnel authorized unless they have been given a ticket IAW FB Regulation 190-5 (See Below).

 Personnel that were cited for Cell Phone usage, parking, or other non-moving violations DO NOT attend DIT.

 This training is NOT offered to personnel to meet Civil Court requirements or to reduce Insurance Rates.

 Soldier Escorts or Supervisors may Drop Off and Pick Up if required by the unit.

WHO MUST ATTEND. 

Only Soldiers, Government Civilian Employees (assigned or attached to Fort Bragg), and Family Members residing in Government Housing  that have received a written Central Violation Bureau (CVB) form, known as a (Ticket), issued by the Military or DA Police.

1.  Running through a stop sign/red light.

2.  Seat belt violation.

3.  Speeding.

4.  Following too closely.

5.  Illegal passing.

6.  Driving on the wrong side of the road.

7.  Failure to yield the right of way.

8.  Failure to maintain lane.

9.  Failure to yield/stop for emergency vehicle.

10. Passing a stopped school bus with flashing lights.

11. At fault in a traffic accident.

12. Hit and run, property damage, or personal injury.

13. Improper turning.

14. Any moving violation not mentioned in 1-13 above.

 Ř       In addition, attendance regardless of whether the citation was issued on or off the installation:   Driving While Impaired (DWI/DUI)

                                                                                                                                                

WHEN/WHERE. 

  • Driver Improvement Training is held Saturday morning, , in the Fort Bragg Memorial Hall on Normandy Drive.  Memorial Hall is located on the lower level of the Soldier Support Center, adjacent to the “Iron Mike” Dining Facility.  (follow signs for Family Readiness Group)

    NO PRE REGISTRATION - arrive on time -  class starts PROMPTLY at 0800

Doors open at 0730, and the class starts PROMPTLY at 0800 and lasts four hours

Bring a pen, you will need to complete forms.

Uniform.  Appropriate civilian attire unless the organization/unit directs otherwise.

Other.  Commanders are notified through the Traffic Offender Report which is attached to the daily Blotter Report.  Enforcement of this training is a commander's responsibility.

  • Attendance is required within 30 days of receiving a CVB (ticket).
  • No pre-registration is necessary – first-come/first-served. 
  • Attendance is taken, and you will receive a letter upon successful completion of the training.

 If you are required to attend this training and fail to do so within 30 days of the citation action will be taken to suspend your on-post driving privileges.

NOTE:  When you attend the driver improvement training your on-post driving privileges will be reinstated unless the suspension was for a separate issue such as DUI or Reckless Driving.

If you attend as a result of receiving a DUI or Reckless Driving citation, your driving privilege will remain in suspension.  Driving on Fort Bragg while under suspension will increase the length of suspension an additional five years.

FTCC Alive at 25  Alive at 25 program is to help young drivers choose safe driving practices, take responsibility for their behavior, and be aware of the typical driving hazards.
